Color is part of our everyday life. The understanding of how colors work and play off each other could take a lifetime to master.

Study these following samples: Sample 1, Sample 2, Sample 3, Sample 4, Sample 5

Assignment (30 points):

Part 1: It is your job to shoot 15 new and different images that focus on the interraction of color, colored patterns, and how colors interact with each other. To do this, shoot images in sets of 5 (use a total of 3 sets = 15 total photographs, so, Red, Green, Blue, or Red, Orange, Yellow).

For instance:

• 5 images that are focused on orange
• 5 images that are focused on blue
• 5 images that are focused on red
• 5 images that are focused on green
• 5 images that are focused on yellow

Your images must be saved in your S: drive folder in a subfolder titled "Color Study".

Part 2: Edit your 15 photos using the following process.

1. Create a Layer Adjustment Mask to convert your image to Black and White
2. Use the pen tool to draw around and select an item in a photo.
3. Make a selection of the pen tooled item
4. Using black paint, color in the selected area. This will allow your color layer to show through.
5. Save the document as a Photoshop document, titled Colorized Photo 1.PSD.
6. Repeat this process on the remaining 14 selected photos, saving them as "Colorized Photo 2.PSD", "Colorized Photo 3", etc.
