Shooting the interior and exterior of buildings is big business. In fact, its HUGE business! People who work with real estate, fashion, and design are always in the market for superb photographers who can capture a beautiful home or office on camera. And, the pictures selected by the real estate professionals can end up on the Internet, in magazines, or even on television as testament to the beauty of a fine home. Though, without the photographers eye to snag that selling image, the best the homeowner or real-estate representative can hope for is to do it themselves.

Assignment (30 points):

Part 1: Interior/Exterior - 10 pts
Shoot 7 new images of a building's interior and/or exterior structure. This could be your home, or the home of a friend It could be an office building. You should shoot the inside of a barn so long as you feel that you have enough material to fulfill ten different images. Also, be sure to use the technique of "Framing" in your shots, to help encapsulate the target you are trying to shoot.

Part 2: Framing
Shoot 8 new images of exterior/interior shots utilizing the technique of "framing," using natural or unnatural structures to "frame in" an object.

Part 3: Pattern Making: In Photoshop, make a selection with your pen tool, right click and make selection. Then, choose "Edit / Define Pattern". This will define that particular selection as a stored pattern in photoshop. Next, use your marquee to select a "strip" down on your photo (wherever you like) and then choose "Pattern" from the "Adjustment Layer" option on your layers pallete and cycle through your patterns until you find the pattern you just made. This will fill in the slected area with the pattern. This portion of the assignment requres that you edit 8 photos (you can use any 8 from the photos that you snapped from the first two portions of this assignment). Save your documents for grading.
