Student Handbook Design

Morton High School, every year, produces a new student handbook for the student body. This book serves as a guide and planner for a thousand students – everyone from those who are trying to succeed to those who are trying to stay afloat. Thus, it is a representation of the school spirit in print form. It contains rules and regulations. It contains calendars and information. And, it even contains the school song. In a way, it is a printed embodiment of Morton High School’s expectations and offerings of integrity and accomplishment.

Morton High School is looking to you to produce the cover for the upcoming year’s Student Handbook.

What are the criteria for this assignment?

• Use typical school colors- Red, Black, and White
• Use the school crest
• Be sure to put the words “MHS Student Handbook” or “Morton High School: Student Handbook” on the cover
• Be sure to include the upcoming year (i.e.: 2010 – 2011)
• This cover can use both photo-realistic images and vector imagery
• Create this image in 300 dpi resolution
• Create this image using your current student handbook’s dimensions as a guide
• Pay attention to margins and gutters, to keep text from butting up from the edge of the page (unless this is an intended look)
